The proposed changes announced in the Immigration White Paper on Monday have unsettled many migrants. What they expected when they came to the UK, and how this will now change has created a lot of uncertainty. The proposals are widespread but the significant changes will include:
- A ban on care workers from 2028 onwards
- Indefinite leave (ILR) increases from 5 to 10 years
- English requirements for dependents
- Changes for international students
