Aisha: Why I chose to fundraise for MRN

Hi everyone, my name is Aisha and last weekend I ran the Brighton Marathon for Migrants’ Rights Network. So far I’ve raised £853 for the brilliant work that the organisation does.

How did running the Brighton Marathon go?

This was my first marathon, and whilst it was very difficult and the hills of Brighton certainly didn’t help, I loved every second, especially seeing all my supporters at the finish line. I’m also really grateful for the support of Migrants’ Rights Network throughout the fundraising process.

Why did you decide to fundraise for MRN?

I chose to fundraise for the Migrants’ Rights Network because I was looking for an organisation that didn’t speak for migrants or work for migrants, but worked with migrants and worked together to co-create policies, campaigns and spaces- like the Solidarity Space- to support but also learn from and learn with migrants in the UK. I really believe that the work of Migrants’ Rights Network isn’t just about changing policy, but also building community, and that really was one of the main reasons that I chose to fundraise for them.

So how can I get involved!

We’re so grateful to our wonderful fundraisers and supporters like Aisha. As a small charity, every penny makes a huge difference to our work and the migrants, including refugees and people seeking asylum, we work alongside!
