Scapegoating continued…

October 2023 Newsletter

Dear supporters,

The Government continues to make its contempt for migrants even clearer. This has only emboldened us in our fight against its hatred.

This month, we have shared our statement on the Home Secretary’s most recent incendiary comments, which continue to stoke fear and hatred against people coming to this country. We also released our open letter in defiance of her racist rhetoric, which you can sign below.

We have also been busy with our Hostile Office campaign, and released a blog detailing the centrality of racism and Islamophobia in citizenship deprivation legislation. We also reflected on the Brook House Inquiry, and the decrease in notice for asylum accommodation evictions, which you can read more about below.

In this newsletter, we also spotlight our recent Words Matter explainers on “lived experience” and “violence”, and share our upcoming Words Matter event!

Finally, we share our reflections on Black History Month, and our Network’s stories for East and South East Asian Heritage Month.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
In solidarity,
The MRN team
