February Newsletter 2023

Right to Work, LGBT History Month + Words Matter

February has got off to a busy start and we have been planning lots of exciting new things. Life is getting harder for migrants and refugees in the UK. It is more important than ever that we stand in solidarity as tougher immigration policies are on the horizon.

At the end of last year, we launched our Challenge the Checks campaign with Migrants at Work and the Open Rights Group. Together, we are trying to uncover the negative effects of immigration enforcement in the workplace, especially Right to Work checks. We have recently put out our new Right to Work survey to try and understand how the checks are impacting migrant workers.

This month has also seen a lot of new Words Matter content, including a National Storytelling Week series and a couple of new explainers. Read on to find out more!

Finally, we share some thoughts as part of our LGBT History Month reflections, and we also announce a brand new Who is welcome? event on queerness and migration.
