International Womens Day 2025

This International Women’s Day, we reaffirm our commitment to standing in solidarity with all marginalised women: Global South, racialised, migrant, working class, queer and trans women. We recognise the history of International Women’s Day as a championing of working class, socialist women’s movements in defiance of imperialism, colonialism and capitalism. And we recognise the dangers of liberal feminism in obscuring this anti-imperialist, socialist history of resistance.

We dedicate this International Women’s Day to all the women who are forgotten and silenced. From the women in Palestine, Congo and Sudan and all around the world resisting genocide, to the migrant women fighting against exploitation, from the trans and queer women resisting gentrification and rainbow capitalism, to the women mobilising against imperialism, from the working women across the world, to the women trafficked and murdered all over the world. International Women’s Day is for these women.

Women have always been central to liberation movements. On this day, we must remember women can never be free under racist, capitalist and colonial systems. Women’s liberation can only come with decolonisation, and when we abolish all oppressive systems.
