Lush x MRN: Words Matter
Racism is a threat to our communities, not migrants
In March, Migrants’ Rights Network partnered with Lush for a nationwide public awareness and fundraising charity campaign, in solidarity with migrants in their fight for rights and justice.

From 16-30 March, the Words Matter campaign featured bold storefront window messaging, a Hand of Friendship fundraising product, and a specially designed educational booklet cross all 101 Lush stores in the UK.
The campaign sent a clear message across the UK: call out the growing use of racist narratives to divide our communities that distract from the real issues people face across the UK. Swipe through to see that message all across the UK – from London, to Liverpool, to Glasgow.
Hand of Friendship bath bomb
The campaign is over in stores, but still ongoing online, with the Hand of Friendship bath bomb.
75% of the sales price (minus tax) from this limited-edition bath bomb donated directly to Migrants’ Rights Network to support our work with grassroots, migrant‑led organisations fighting for transformational change.
Its warm, uplifting fragrance and open‑hand design embody welcome, solidarity, and the world we are building together. Share that spirit by picking one up for friends and family and inviting them into this movement for change.

Words Matter Booklet
We have been honoured to be chosen by Lush to showcase our Words Matter campaign, and we really appreciate your interest in our work.
The Words Matter booklet offered in Lush stores is a shortened version of our explainer series examining harmful migration narratives in the UK. You can find the full version of the booklet below.
We’re keen to learn from best practice while updating and sharing our resources to create meaningful movements for change across the UK. If you are involved in anti-disinformation and anti-fascist organising in your local community, then we want to hear from you. You can provide your feedback here.

Stand up for your community: immigration raids and how to freeze ICE in your area

If you’ve enjoyed learning about migration and the language associated with it, you may also be interested in our work to understand how immigration raids by ICE (immigration and compliance enforcement) are impacting migrant and racialised communities and businesses.
Raids primarily target intra-UK movement routes and areas of cities where certain racialised groups work and reside, yet we have also seen decreases in raids in places where anti-raids mobilisation hotspots.
You can read more about how and where across the UK raids are taking place here. We have also created a raids heat map that shows where raids are most commonly happening, and also how you can report a raid that you witness or hear about.
If you’re appalled by ICE in the UK, then consider getting involved with an Anti-Raids group or learn about how to set up one of your own. Details can be found here.
