Worried about immigration raids on your business and community?
There has been a significant increase in immigration raids on businesses especially car washes, nail bars, hair salons, convenience stores, construction sites and takeaways. They are almost always targeting people who are from migrant and racialised backgrounds.
We know many many of the raids are conducted unlawfully (Immigration Compliance data suggests 80%). They are carried out on small migrant business owners who are in some cases experiencing multiple raids bordering harassment.
It’s time to push back against these raids. We want business owners and their allies to be better informed on what they should be aware of when a raid is being conducted, and be prepared on how to challenge any fines and penalties.
Join MRN and Public Interest Law Centre as we hear from a legal expert with 15+ years experience of challenging civil penalties. We will gain valuable insights into the inner workings of immigration enforcement raids, learn about business owners’ rights and officer powers.
There will be opportunities to ask questions of the legal experts but please note they will not be able to offer any personal advice.
