At MRN, we understand the power of community. The Government thrives in keeping us apart, but we know we are stronger together.
That’s what makes our Solidarity Spaces so important. They are vibrant hubs of connection and belonging for racialised and migrant communities. These provide a safe, informal place where people can come together to share experiences, celebrate their identities, shape their own journeys and build lasting friendships in a community that truly values them. These spaces have been co-produced with local migrant communities- especially people seeking asylum– and offer a space for rest, learning and joy, shaped by those who use it.
“A space where people come as they are and are respected and accepted regardless.”
– Attendee
What to expect
- Regular ESOL space starts at 1PM – all levels welcome. At the first session on 10th April, we’ll be running a drop-in needs assessment for the ESOL space from 1–4PM – if you’re interested in English language learning, we encourage you to come early and take part.
- 2–3PM workshops on creative activities, rights info, wellbeing, tech & more
- Tea, coffee & snacks (help yourself!)
- Games, music & informal activities
- Interpreters in community languages
- £5 travel expenses available
This Space has been shaped by local migrant communities but everyone is welcome. No sign-up is needed.
