Migrants' Rights Network

Manchester – Workshop on resisting the ‘hostile environment’

The Manchester Migrants Network, an alliance of migrant and refugee groups working across Greater Manchester, are organising a workshop on Monday 19 March to provide advice on how to resist “hostile environment” policies.

Contributors will include: African Rainbow Family, Manchester Migrant Solidarity, Women’s Voices, WAST Manchester, Greater Manchester Pakistani Association, United for Change, Migrants Supporting Migrants, and Migrants Organise.

The idea is to bring experts, organisers and migrant communities together on the day to share and learn:
  • How to respond if you are detained, at risk of deportation, or stopped by immigration enforcement,
  • How to organise for fair, safe access to healthcare.
with a focus on coordinating and connecting all the great work going on, and bringing some new voices into the scene.
All welcome – simply email [email protected]
The event will be held at the Pakistani Community Centre (481 Stockport Road, Manchester M12 4NN) for 10.30am to 4pm, with the draft programme below.
