The Displaced in Media Conference is organised by the British Film Institute (BFI) in association with the European Cultural Foundation.
On Thursday 14 of June, the BFI will host a free-to-attend conference facilitating conversations between refugees and media organisations across Europe, with the aim of developing more inclusive partnerships to better enable refugees and migrants to be able to represent themselves and tell their own stories in the media.
We would be delighted if you could attend the day and take part in a series of events that will enable lively debates and conversations between industry professionals from media organisations and platforms, and refugees, migrants and organisations that support displaced communities.
Events will include a panel debate, roundtable discussions, and showcases of good practise where arts and media organisations have collaborated to support displaced peoples tell their own stories.
Packed with insightful and practical tips, the Displaced in Media Conference will showcase multiple projects across arts and news outlets produced by refugees, discuss inclusive strategies and opportunities for creative and professional development for refugees and migrants.
The event will take place at BFI Southbank from 09:30 – 16:30
Date: 14 June 2018
Timings: 09:30 – 16:30
Audience: Refugees, migrants, representatives of media and refugee organisations
Refreshments will be provided throughout the day, including lunch and networking drinks and nibbles, and participants will have the opportunity to attend a screening of Refugee Week film ‘The Foreigner’s Home’ in the evening.
Please RSVP to me on [email protected] and if interested to attend the film screening.
