This June, Refugee Week will have been celebrating the contributions, resilience and creativity of refugees for 20 years.
It has grown to become a powerful and unique national movement, bringing communities together and making space for a different story about refugees.
As part of Refugee Week 2018, here are a few ways to get involved:
20 Simple Acts
One for each year of Refugee Week! From sharing a refugees welcome poster to learning a song written in detention, they are simple things everyone can do to stand with refugees and make new connections in their community.
Simple Acts will happen in schools, museums and galleries, theatres, community venues, football pitches, offices, on Twitter, around the dining room table and anywhere else you can think of for Refugee Week 2018, and together we’ll help to change the conversation about refugees.
Find out more on our Simple Acts page.
Refugee Week events will take place in their hundreds up and down the UK, from gigs, film screenings and plays to walks, talks and football tournaments.
Most events free and many are family-friendly. Visit the Refugee Week website to find out what’s on in your area.
