MRN’s work is underpinned by the following three core values:
- Long-term empowerment of migrant communities, so that they can meaningfully influence decisions that affect them. Our work aims to foreground migrant voices and experiences, embedding our policy and advocacy work in a migrant-led agenda wherever possible.
- Alliance-building and networking around common concerns, in pursuit of real change. We bring migrant communities together with wider stakeholders around common issues of concern, including trades unions, academics, public sector representatives, faith groups, and some members of the business community. We reach out to new audiences to expand the networks of influence on immigration.
- Fresh thinking and innovative approaches. We are a learning organisation, and regularly assess our work in order to increase our reach and impact. We regularly look for new ways of doing things, to ensure that the migrants’ rights movement benefits from strategies developed in other sectors and that we are relevant to as wide an audience as possible.
